Career  Jim had a lengthy career in advertising, public relations, and integrated marketing, managing accounts at some of the world’s largest ad agencies and PR firms. In 1986 Paglia and a partner teamed up in an integrated marketing firm called Tassani Communications, which quickly grew to be recognized as one of Chicago’s most prominent mid-sized firms and eventually changed its name to Tassani & Paglia. In 1995, Jim decided to create a new business model and form In’s & Out’s. Jim believed that businesses were placing too much emphasis on marketing in determining a brand. He believes that a brand is a reflection of a customer’s complete experience, and had less to do with what a company says about itself and its products. In’s & Out’s has served hundreds of clients in scores of industries and sectors in its 15 year history. Civic Involvement  In addition to his professional interests, Jim has been very active in civic, social and not-for-profit endeavors. He has served as president and/or chairman of more than 25 not-for-profits in the past 20 years. Jim helped to found the Chicago Sinfonietta, a professional symphony orchestra that performs at Chicago’s illustrious Orchestra Hall. Jim served as Chairman of the Board for Chicago 1994 World Cup of Soccer. Jim was the chairman of the board of the Illinois Chapter of the March of Dimes, which included NW Indiana. He was a board member and served two terms as president of the Illinois Fatherhood Initiative. Paglia is the author of volleyball’s best selling publication, “A Guide To Volleyball Basics.” The Illinois Women’s Open Cup Championship soccer trophy is named the Jim Paglia Cup. Currently, Jim is the Chairperson for the National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA)*, whose mission is to empower family caregivers to act on behalf of themselves and their loved ones and remove barriers to health and well-being. Jim lives outside Chicago, Illinois in Chesterton, Indiana with his wife, Sandy, and their two children. Brew the Wonder Dog  This is Brew the Wonder Dog. He’s our muse, inspiration and the only permanent fixture in the place. Although the majority of our work revolves around the counsel we provide, if greater resources are needed, In’s & Out’s engages the services of freelancers, subcontractors, and subject matter experts on an “as needed’ basis. Our network of experts, vendors, and suppliers stretches around the world. The scope of our work includes providing one-to-one counsel to a CEO, and managing a global network of hundreds of associates and service providers. Unlike many “consultants,” we have the references and testimonials to back up this claim. It’s important to know that In’s & Out’s does not mark up, charge commissions, or take fees from service providers we engage on a client’s behalf.
